Preventive Dentistry

Patients have inquired as to which mouthwash I might recommend. I do not endorse any particular commercial mouthwash. I will say the use of pomegranate juice (not mixed with apple juice) as a mouthwash appears to me as effective as any commercial mouthwash. Obviously this would also be considered a holistic therapy also.

In the realm of tooth brushing I prefer the use of an electric toothbrush. ? I prefer the Braun toothbrush with the doublehead from Oral B. ? The single head is standard with the Braun. ? I like the Braun model called the ” Triumph.” ?  It doesn’t matter what model of the Triumph you obtain, they all do the same job. ? In clinical tests the electric brush has proven vastly superior to the hand brush and the Braun has proven best in independent testing of electric brushes.

An electric toothbrush (prefersbly a Braun Triumph)

Stim-U-Dents from Johnson & Johnson

Tea tree oil toothpaste or the equivalent

MI Paste Plus (available online at smilewarehouse.com)

Dental Tape from Johnson & Johnson
