Dental Crowns

Porcelain & Zirconia Crowns

If  your natural teeth are crooked, crowded, or spaced unevenly, or if everyday wear and tear has left your teeth discolored and broken, Dr. Singer can correct these problems with the best natural looking dental crowns and bridges.

Dental Crowns Unlike Any Other

dental crowns and bridgesA Dental crown is a tooth-shaped restoration that completely covers the natural tooth to just below the gum line. This is one of the most common procedures for a cosmetic dentist to perform.

Why You May Need a Dental Crown

A crown can restore the appearance of a cracked or chipped tooth or strengthen a weakened or worn tooth. Dr. Singer may also recommend crowns when you want to improve the appearance of your teeth. If teeth are mildly out of alignment, crowns can make your teeth appear straight. When you have a tooth with bleach-resistant stains, a cosmetic crown can cover the discoloration and make your tooth appear whiter. If you have a strong or close bite, Dr. Singer may suggest crowns over another treatment since crowns are more durable and less susceptible to chipping or fracture.

What Makes Our Crowns Different

Most dental crowns are either created in computer guided milling machines or pressed in a mold. While these methods are quick, sometimes the crowns are not measured accurately to your teeth and their appearance may not look natural. To achieve lifelike appearance and beautiful luminance, Dr. Singer creates his artistic crowns using a method that is followed by only 5 percent of the dentists in the world.

Each artistic crown he creates has up to 32 gradations of color, matched to the natural white of your teeth. While most crowns have a metal core, Dr. Singer uses Zirconia for Zirconia, an extremely strong and durable material, to create a core that resists cracks and fractures. With Zirconia Crowns, you won't see a black line (the tell-tale sign of a metal crown), near your gums. Instead, your crown will be indistinguishable from your natural teeth.

Then, up to 42 layers of  Noritake Japanese porcelain are applied and baked over this core. Dr. Singer uses this type of porcelain because it's the finest in the world and its consistency matches that of your natural tooth enamel.

If you look closely at one of our crowns, you'll notice that they are naturally luminous. That's the handiwork of our award-winning ceramicist who has studied ceramics from porcelain masters in Japan. His understanding of the color, hue, and translucency of natural teeth is unmatched and he will design a dazzling custom crown for your tooth.

Thanks to advances in dental materials, you can now choose to have Zirconia crowns or Porcelain crowns - no metal or unsightly dark bands at the base of the tooth.

Finally, our crowns are fired in state-of-the-art Dekima ceramic ovens at 1800 degrees F.  The accuracy of this temperature is extremely important to creating natural-looking crowns.

How the Crowning Process Works

When you need a crown, Dr. Singer will take an impression of the tooth you want to crown. He reduces the tooth structure from all sides of the tooth. Once the lab creates the crown, Dr. Singer will first inspect it to make sure that it meets his aesthetic standards. When Dr. Singer's process is complete, you'll feel completely confident that you have a beautiful smile and strong, functional teeth.

Quality Dental Bridges

A dental bridge is a set of artificial teeth. They can be used to replace up to ten missing natural teeth. When Dr. Singer applies a bridge, he places support crowns on healthy teeth on either side of missing teeth and then anchors your bridge to those teeth. This is what's called a fixed bridge. Unlike partial dentures, it doesn't need to be removed regularly.

Dr. Singer usually recommends bridges to close gaps or replace missing teeth as well as stabilize and balance your bite. Like our crowns, our bridges are created using the best materials and technologies from around the world. When you smile, the bridge will be completely indistinguishable from your surrounding natural teeth.

If you're missing teeth or want to replace your existing bridge, Dr. Singer can suggest several different types of bridges. When you schedule a consultation, he can help you select the best solution for your unique dental needs.

Dr. Jeffrey Singer offers LASER treatments for periodontitis to achieve improved periodontal health. [See section on LASER] Laser procedures offer alternative treatments that are less traumatic than conventional flap surgery with scalpel incisions and sutures and conserve healthy tissue. Light energy from the laser is directed through a tiny fiber that removes diseased tissue and aids in reducing bacteria associated with the disease. When the area is thoroughly cleaned, the body can heal normally.
